Week Five of S M Berry Building Contractors Ltd New Extension Project in Hartley, Kent |
Follow Scott Berry's weekly progress at the end of week five of their fifteen week home extension project in Hartley, Kent
Scott and his two sons, Elliot and Jed started a new two storey side extension in Hartley, Kent on the 20th July 2009 and aim to complete within 15 weeks. At the end of week five Scott and his team are now a third of the way through their allocated time and have managed to edge slightly ahead of their schedule having nearly completed all the external works.
Scott, Elliot and Jed began the week by installing the pyramid roof light and completing the flat roof.
On Tuesday Scott and Elliot laid the floor and put up the studwork for the internal partitions on the first floor.
The scratch coat of render to the ground floor of the extension was then applied on Wednesday and on Thursday they applied the top coat, which Jed floated off leaving a nice smooth finish.
Finally, on Friday the team insulated the floor and walls to the first floor.
The windows have been measured and ordered and will be fitted within the next two weeks.
Tony Munday, the electrician, started the electrical work on Saturday.
