Before Scott and his team could start to excavate the footings the existing garage had to be demolished. Scott's youngest son, Jed was delighted to discover what 'appeared' to be an abandoned wasp nest and which, after he had photographed it profusely, placed it in the skip. Unfortunately the photographs he took were on his phone and so you will be unable to look at this remarkable feat of engineering otherwise you would have to agree that it's nearly as good as an extension constructed by S M Berry Building Contractors Ltd!

After the garage was demolished the trenchwork was marked out and then the gruelling task to break out the existing concrete foundation began. The trenchwork was then excavated by Scott using a mini digger, whilst Elliot and Jed barrowed the earth and rubble into the skip. (The boys think Scott has it easy, do you understand why?!!) As the day progressed more and more wasps appeared around the skip but fortunately they didn't seem to be very upset by their unwanted move and no-one was stung.

Everything was ready for the concrete to be poured on Thursday morning and this was completed in record time. All the materials needed to start building the extension are being delivered on Friday and Elliot and Jed are unloading and preparing the site ready for Monday.

S M Berry Building Contractors Ltd new clients are also very generous and, along with countless cups of tea, they have continued to feed Elliot's addiction to biscuits!!
