The beginning of the week started out very eventfully as Scott, Elliot and Jed broke into the main roof to begin construction of the first floor which is being built in Chalet style. A huge wasp's nest was uncovered and at first the team tried to continue on with their work, however, these wasps were extremely malevolent and began to sting Elliot and Jed repeatedly! A pest controller was called in and the wasps were dealt with at the end of the day with a promise from the pest controller that when they returned to work in the morning only a few very vicious wasps would remain. How comforting! Fortunately the next morning when the team arrived there were no live wasps in sight and so work was able to continue at a pace.

The block work was completed to mirror the existing house and then work began on the wooden construction. The outside and inside skins of the structure were then boarded in OSB and a breather membrane was tacked onto the outside. An opening in the flat roof was left to accommodate a pyramid roof light and the extension was left weather tight.

The batons were nailed into place ready to begin tiling the roof.

More materials were sourced for the Shiplap Cladding ready for next week.
